🌼Please READ - Hello Farm Friends and Local Folks! 2 things we really want you to know. 🌸FIRST: We have a sweet, steady and flexible job available starting as soon as next week. It may be perfect for you, or someone you know! The job itself is to intake, wash & package these gorgeous, vibrant vegetables for orders. You may find yourself washing carrots, for example, and weighing and bagging just washed 7 spun-dry lettuce mix, getting beets into big totes for the farmers' market, and/or prepping items for our CSA packagers to fill boxes with. You may be logging the amount of pounds of veggies items that just came in. You may be labeling items. You may be greeting the food pantry driver and and helping them load donated items into their van. You are inside, warm, wearing comfy clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty, working with absolutely beautiful vegetables, and a small group of friendly fellow staff. We are looking for a team player/ good communicator, who is friendly, organized, efficient, and has an eye-for-detail. The job days are weekly, Monday through Thursday. Hours are flexible, and usually between 25 - 32 hours a week, but usually start at or just before 9:00 AM and end around 2:30/ 3:00. (If you're a parent that has to bring kids to school in the am and pick them up in the afternoon, we imagine that this may be a good fit, time wise.). We can train the right individual. The right person can lift up to 40 lb totes, from dolly to tables, and stand / walk while you're working each day. Hello Farm Friends! Saturday's Menu is posted here, and we have plenty of authentic French pastries... But first? We found a 6,000 lb ish granite rock when excavating around the barn! Ryan loves rocks and has been collecting the boulders he finds on our farm since the beginning. Some are pretty large and you can see them in the landscaping by the market. But nothing like this! It's called a "Glacial Erratic". Ryan put it by the big new SAND BOX by our farm market, and cleaned it up. You'll have to visit to see the cleaned-up version in person. 😉 We have fantastic strawberries right now! This Ever-Bearing variety has the "tastes like jam already" flavor we love. The cantaloupe that just got harvested is excellent too. The summer weather was the right amount of heat, sun and rain to bring out the best flavors! More Freshly harvested items from our gardens? Cherry & Heirloom Tomatoes, Beets, Carrots, Onions, Cucumbers, Zucchini, Peppers, Lettuce, Arugula, Garlic, Squash to name a few! I'm happy to say our U-Pick flower garden is ready. Please join in. We can hardly keep up, and the more we pick, the more blooms we'll get! Snips are available at the counter upon request. All of our produce is found here at our farm market and farm-to-table cafe, Monday - Saturday, 8-6. Hello Farm Friends! Hope you’re feeling well and enjoying the height of summer! I’m typing this from our cafe yard and it’s absolutely beautiful this morning! It’s lovely to see the Belted Galloway’s from my seat, eating fresh-picked raspberries (a new crop for us this year). We have two away farm markets today, Boyne and TC, 8 - noon. Please note the Traverse City market moved to Rotary Park, about two blocks south of Front street by the Methodist church. We're giving two farm tours today: 10:AM & 1:PM. I’m happy to say my U-Pick flower garden is ready for all who love to pick their own blooms! And that we have fresh bouquets available for you now too! In case you’re wondering about today’s menu...
