SUMMARY:Providence Organic Farm’s CSA Open House on the Summer Solstice!
DESCRIPTION:We want to celebrate! You’re invited to\nProvidence Organic Farm’s CSA Open House\nSummer Solstice Event!\n\n\nSaturday\, June 21st | 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM\n\n\nWatch Our Farm Video\nYour browser does not support the video tag.\n\n\nFresh Produce This Week\n\n\nFrench Shallot (POF)\nMore delicate than onions\, use in any dish you’d love a milder version of onion in. \n\n\nTender Spinach (POF)\nHigh in oxalic acid\, is fine raw in small doses\, but better to lightly steam or sauté spinach. We make a lot of spinach frittatas w/ sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese. YUM. \n\n\nSweet Potatoes (Second Spring Farm)\nOur friend\, Reid\, grows these in Cedar\, MI. Sweet potato oven fries or grill-baked sweet potatoes go great with summer burgers! \n\n\nYellow Onions (SSF)\nPerfect for burgers\, stir-fry and any savory dish. \n\n\n\n\nLive Music & Activities\n\nFarm Tours\nRyan and I will give tours at 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM \n\, plus a sheep dog demonstration! \n \n\n\nJ. Hobbs Live Performance\n2:30 – 4:30 PM | (formerly known as brotha James) playing family friendly\, uplifting songs that blend empowering messages with the power of music. \nSupported by Sean Reisig on Djembe from 1000 Watt Prophets and Rob Hodge who was 1st bass player for FUNKTION. \n\n Bring your own lawn chair or picnic blanket as we’re sure to have a crowd! \n\n\nStorage Tips\nStore everything but shallots\, sweet potatoes & onions in a protected barrier such as plastic or an air-tight container in the fridge so that they don’t dehydrate. \n\n\nImportant Reminders\nPLEASE SAVE YOUR BOXES FOR US – WE SAVE TREES & ENERGY BY RE-USING THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN. BRING THEM BACK TO EACH PICK-UP. THANKS SO MUCH! \nContact Us: If you ever need us\, please email ProvidenceCSA@gmail.com with a clear subject line. We will get back to you ASAP. \n\n\nComing Soon: Strawberries!\nPeople love our certified organic strawberries for their excellent flavor! You can save money by pre-ordering flats (8 quarts) for putting up. They are very easy to process and freeze. Simply rinse\, pat dry\, pop off the hull\, and place into freezer bags. \n\n\nCSA Member Benefits (June 21st)\nDuring our CSA Open House\, CSA Members will score 10% off our authentic Mexican Pop-up\, and steep discounts on Providence swag!
